About the Tohorā Research project.

New Zealand southern right whales – tohorā have made a remarkable recovery from whaling. However, how has the population grown over the past decade, when climate change has had the biggest impact on our oceans? Our research project seeks to understand more on how southern right whales – tohorā use our seas and how this impacts the population’s recovery from whaling.
